Ian Orr is a 14-year Mason resident that wants to continue serving his community on the Mason City School Board. He believes our school district is the cornerstone of our community — it brings us together and creates opportunities for all of us to learn and grow. Ian shares his Comet Country pride with his wife, Jessica, a resident of Mason for 21 years, and their 4 children — 2 Comet graduates and 2 future Comet graduates.

He believes that transparency and honesty is good stewardship, which is an integral part of our collective success.
Ian believes in holding himself and his colleagues to a higher standard. Over the years, he has worked with the district in several capacities and is ecstatic at the chance to further impact students. With expertise in Risk Management & Mitigation, Ian is equipped to collaborate with school board members and make thoughtful, reflective, and well-informed decisions that are future-focused.
He values transparency in the work of the school board — so staff, students, and the community have access to their school system. Ian Orr will be a champion and an advocate for our incredible students, our diverse community, and our wonderful staff.
